International Info Day
The Faculty of Organizational Sciences was among the first at the University of Belgrade to recognize the need for informing the academic staff and students about international cooperation and the possibilities it offers. The event International Info Day is held regularly since 2009. This one-day event involves institutions, organizations, foundations and associations providing information on scholarships. They also award scholarships for exchange, continuation of studies or opportunities for gaining professional experience abroad. The event had two parts. At the Faculty lobby, the participants talked to students interested in the programs on offer, terms and conditions, application deadlines and possibilities the programs offer. The interaction is supported by info materials, brochures and leaflets. In addition, a two-hour presentation of all participants is held in the amphitheatre, giving the prospective candidates the information on different programs of funding studies and doing internships abroad. The participants of the International Info Day are the representatives of the Department for International Relations of the University of Belgrade, Young Talents Fund of the Serbian Government, Tempus Office, British Council, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst Dienst), Cervantes Institute, French Institute and student organizations of the Faculty – ESTIEM and BEST.
National Days
In addition to the International Info Day, and in accordance with specific forms of cooperation with foreign universities or colleges, there was an initiative to organize national days with state institutions which cooperate with the Faculty.
Germany Day
In December 2010, the Germany Day was held with the aim of presenting German culture, language, business and economy to students of FOS. The event was opened by Sybil Pfaff, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany. The participants were representatives of universities/colleges with which the Faculty has signed cooperation agreements (University of Applied Sciences in Munich, Pforzheim University and School of Economics and Business Administration, Friedrich Schiller University), representatives of organizations, foundations, associations and institutions that support mobility of students (DAAD, the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, Zoran Đinđic Fund), and representatives of German companies operating in Serbia (SAP, DHL, SIEMENS).
Great Britain Day
The aim of Great Britain Day was to present specific forms of the Faculty cooperation with academic institutions and the possibilities for further education, studies and internship in some of the companies. The event was hosted by the Ambassador of Great Britain, Michael Davenport and the Dean of the Faculty, professor Milan Martić. There was a special presentation of the study program International Business & Management awarding a dual diploma, developed with the Middlesex University from London, which has successfully been implemented at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences for three years, including the programs of professional doctorates at the Middlesex University. Scholarships of the British Embassy for the continuation of studies in Great Britain were presented to students. In addition to the academic part of the program, there were presentations of the activities of the British Council and British-Serbian chamber of commerce in Serbia. On behalf of the business sector, companies which provide internships were presented to students, including British American Tobacco, KPMG and Jones Lang LaSalle.
Slovenia Day
Open door evening: Towards modern administration was held on October 17, 2013 with to promote the cooperation with the Faculty of Administration from Ljubljana and admission to the joint study program Management in Administration. Since the faculties have a long and successful cooperation, this was also a promotion of the cooperation between the University of Belgrade and the University of Ljubljana. The event was hosted by the Dean of the Faculty, professor Milan Martić and the Rector of the University of Belgrade, professor Vladimir Bumbaširević. The Dean of the Faculty of Administration addressed the present.
The event included a panel discussion on the topic Transformation of administration and creating a good business environment. The panel was moderated by professor Stanka Setnikar Cankar, the manager of the program Management in Administration from the Faculty of Administration and professor Mirjana Drakulić, the manager of the program from the Faculty of Organizational Sciences.
Spring school in cooperation with University of Applied Sciences Munich
The Faculty had the idea of organizing an international spring school in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Munich. The first school was held in March 2011. The school is prepared and organized by the academic staff from both institutions. The school’s field of study and its topics are based on a previously conducted joint research simultaneously organized by institutions in both countries. Added value is a comparative analysis of the results and different phenomena occurring in both countries. In the beginning, the participants of the school were only the students from the two partner institutions, later to be joined by students of regional universities/faculties which have good cooperation with the Faculty. The working language of the school is English.
Spring school 2011
The first international spring school – Spring school 011 ”Entrepreneurs’ reputation in digital age“ was held between March 21 and 25, 2011 in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences from Munich. The school was a result of a joint research conducted by the academic staff and students from both institutions. The research examined different aspects of entrepreneurial reputation in the digital age: financial, legal, marketing, etc. Twenty-four students from both institutions took part, and the lecturers included eminent experts in the field along with the academic staff.
Spring school 2012
The second international spring school – Spring school 012 ‟Doing business in digital environment“ was held between March 9 and 13, 2012 in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences from Munich. Based on the joint research conducted by the academic staff and students from both institutions they examined different aspects of doing business in the digital age: financial, legal, marketing, etc. Twenty-seven students from both institutions took part including students from Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The lecturers were eminent experts in the field along with the academic staff of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences.
Summer school of E-business technologies
Summer school of E-business technologies
The Department of e-business, traditionally, starting with 2014, organizes summer school “E-business technologies”. Participation in summer school is free for all students, no matter the level of study. Summer school is held in the second half of September and the beginning of October, lasting 15-20 days. Each year, participants have an opportunity to learn about different, innovative and challenging areas which teachers and associates of the department prepare for them. Participants who regularly attend classes and who successfully finish the final project, get a certificate.
We ask all students to join summer schools which will be held by the Department of e-business in the years to come. Together with professors and associates, students will enrich their knowledge on popular and hot topics in e-business.
Summer school “E-business technologies 2021”
In 2021. the summer school was held from 20th of September till 15th of October. Lab exercises were held in combined regime, 4 times a week in classrooms of Faculty of Organizational Sciences, as well as online, through Moodle platform and system for video conference. Topics which were covered in classes this year were:
1. Microservice architecture, and
2. DevOps methods and techniques for development of e-business applications.
Summer school “E-business technologies 2020”
Due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19 virus, summer school 2020 was held in online regime, from 28th of September till 18th of October. Classes were organized using Moodle platform and video conferences. Participants from Serbia, Russia and Eritrea were studying the following topics:
1. Concurrent and distributed programming in Python,
2. Development of PWA applications using VueJS framework, and
3. Managing smart environments in real-time.
Summer school “E-business technologies 2019”
Summer school 2019 was held from 21st of September till 12th of October and it had an international character. In addition to students from Serbia, students from the Nizhny Novgorod State University of Engineering and Economics, from Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, participated in the summer school. The courses studied in the classes were:
1. Python and data analysis,
2. Crowdsensing in smart environments, and
3. Blockchain in e-business
Summer school “E-business technologies 2018”
Fifth in a row, summer school of the Department of e-business was held from 21st of September till 12th of October in 2018. Besides teachers and associates of the department, lecturers were also professors from the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering: prof. dr Nataša Bojković, prof.dr Vesna Radonjić Đogatović, i doc.dr Marko Đogatović.
The following topics were covered in lab exercises and practical examples:
1. Python and data analysis,
2. Big data analytics, and
3. Smart traffic.
Summer school “E-business technologies 2017”
In 2017, the summer school was organized in the period from 21st of September till 14th of October. Students were able to opt for one of the following courses:
1. Frameworks and tools for e-business app development,
2. Smart cities, and
3. Big data infrastructure and services.
Summer school “E-business technologies 2016”
In 2016, the summer school was organized in the period from 21st of September till 14th of October. The lecturers were professors and associates from the Department of e-business, and students could choose one of the following courses:
1. Development of e-business apps,
2. Internet of things (IoT), and
3. Big data in e-business.
Summer school “E-business technologies 2015”
For the second summer school “E-business technologies 2015”, held from21st of September till 10th of October, in 2015, students had the opportunity to pick two innovated programs of previously held courses or a completely new one:
1. Development of e-business applications,
2. Internet of things (IoT), and
3. Software defined networks and Cloud computing.
Summer school “E-business technologies 2014”
The first summer school of E-business technologies was held in the period from 29th of September till 10th of October 2015 at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences. Lectures, lab exercises and solving practical problems was organized within the courses:
1. Development of e-business applications, and
2. Internet of things (IoT).
Summer school of HR analytics
Summer school of HR analytics
From June till September 2021, the Summer school of HR analytics in English was held via an internet platform for students of FOS and related faculties. In addition, the Centre for Human Resource Management and the Chair of Human Resource Management prepared summer school as the pilot project considering the new accreditation cycles that include the introduction of the new master module Analytics in HRM.
Summer school of HR analytics was organized in cooperation with assistant professor Goran Kuljanin, PhD from DePaul University, Chicago (Ilinois, USA). Dr Kuljanin teaches Management and entrepreneurship at the University and is an expert in R program language for data analysis in the human resource domain.
The course aimed to adopt the key concepts of the analytical approach to HR processes and obtain the skills to use digital tools for analyses and decision-making about employees based on big data sets. The focus of the course will be on the application of programming language R in big data analysis applied on concrete examples of employees’ data sets. Students accomplished real problem and situation tasks independently or in consultation with the professor.
After completing the course (ten tasks of relevant topics), students understood the application of big data in the HR domain. In addition, they acquired knowledge about digital tools and decision-making systems applied to HR analytics. Also, they developed skills to use R to analyze data and create reports about employees and HR processes outcomes.
24 graduate and master students applied to HR analytics summer school. Thanks to cooperation with professor Denisa Abrudan, PhD from West Timisoara University (Romania) and Achilleas Anagnostopoulos, PhD from Business School (University of Thessaly, Greece), the school gained international character due to the students participating from Romania and Greece. Exceptional merit goes to Aleksandra Cvetić, Alexandra-Ioana Popescu, Dunja Novaković and Tea Vuletić, who finished their course successfully and gained a Certificate. The Certificate confirms their achievement by lecture Goran Kuljanin, head of the Center of Human Resource Management and the dean of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences.
Summer school in cooperation with Berlin Scholl of Economics and Law
Summer school 2018 & 2019 “Data Science and Computer Decision Making”
The University of Belgrade – Faculty of Organizational Sciences (FOS) and the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR Berlin) – Faculty of Cooperative Studies organized the Summer Schools of Data Science and Computer Decision Making, during August 2018 & 2019 in Perast, Montenegro. Summer school in 2019 was also supported by the SAGA Company.
Participants were students from Germany and Serbia who were supported by a group of professors and mentors from both institutions. The goal of the summer school was:
– to exchange experiences and knowledge in the areas of data science and computer decision making,
– to learn the processes of planning and implementation of projects based on data science and computer decision making,
– to understand the career paths they could pursue in the areas of data science and computer decision making.

FON Summer School
FON Summer School 2023 – Data Empowering Business
The Faculty of Organizational Sciences organizes the summer school in order to encourage academic cooperation on regional and higher levels. At the same time, it is designed to provide students with academic knowledge and practical skills regarding cutting-edge topics and academic fields covered by the FON educational and research area.
The main topic of FON Summer School 2023 is focused on understanding of full data science life cycle, from understanding business problem, data analysis, modelling, to applying the adequate models to empower business strategies. The aim of the programme is to introduce students to basic concepts of data analysis, visualization and business problem modelling in a hands-on manner and to help them apply the acquired knowledge and skills on a company business case.
The programme offers interactive lectures and workshops:
- on data analysis and visualization using the SAS environment,
- application of statistics, business analytics, and computer intelligence in modelling diverse business problems,
- sales strategies and finance, advanced calculations for sales and business models and design.
In the end, students will work on a team project in form of a business case presented by Carnex company to improve sales strategies using data.
The programme outcomes include acquisition of knowledge and skills student participants will be able to use in business environment to make informed decisions based on data and to present their conclusions and insights to company management. After successfully finishing the programme, the students will be presented with certificates of completion. Students will obtain FON Certificate of Attendance, SAS Digital Badge of completion Visual Analytics 1 for SAS Viya: Basics and gain 3 ECTS credits.

FON Summer School 2022 – Unleash Management Skills in Digital & Data-Driven Business
FON Summer School 2022 – Unleash Management Skills in Digital & Data-Driven Business is a programme that offers final year undergraduates and master’s students the opportunity to upgrade their academic and practical skills in the fields of management, organization, information systems and technologies, and to develop new skills that could help them in further studies and/or work. Furthermore, the participants will gain the opportunity create lasting friendships with like-minded students from other countries.
The programme schedule is organized in such a way that, besides the time required for study, students will also have enough time to relax, practice friendship-oriented extracurricular activities, attend cultural events and explore the city of Belgrade.
The Faculty of Organizational Sciences organizes the summer school in order to encourage academic cooperation on regional and higher levels. At the same time, it is designed to provide students with academic knowledge and practical skills regarding cutting-edge topics and academic fields covered by the FON educational and research area. The subject of the programme is understanding how businesses adapt to change and disruption (e.g. crises, Covid-19, etc.) on one hand, and technology development on the other. The aim of the programme is to help students upgrade their knowledge and apply useful tools and technologies in decision-making process, whether data-driven or not. It will also help students define marketing and sales strategies as well as formulate their own business model.
The programme offers interactive lectures and workshops covering the academic fields of contemporary financial management in the banking sector, data-driven decision making by applying Power BI, marketing and sales strategy, big data technologies, business models and design,
as well as a full suite of skills in presenting business, writing a CV, and adjusting to the data-driven approach in business. The programme includes an interview with a guest lecturer from the industry that is in the focus this year. A special workshop is dedicated to business etiquette during business interviews and cocktails.
The programme outcomes involve acquisition of knowledge and skills students will be able to use in digital business environment. They will also be able to use tools to make data-driven business decisions, solve problems with or without data, and present their solutions. After successfully finishing the programme, the students will be presented with certificates of completion.
Visiting lectures
For the purpose of ensuring and promoting good cooperation between the Faculty and other academic institutions in Serbia, including international cooperation abroad, the academic staff of the Faculty often gives visiting lectures at foreign institutions, and the lecturers and experts from abroad give lectures and share their knowledge and experience with the students of the Faculty.
