{"id":1513,"date":"2023-07-17T08:21:28","date_gmt":"2023-07-17T06:21:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fon.bg.ac.rs\/eng\/?p=1513"},"modified":"2023-07-17T08:21:28","modified_gmt":"2023-07-17T06:21:28","slug":"international-summer-school-successfully-held-at-fon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oldfon.fon.bg.ac.rs\/eng\/2023\/07\/international-summer-school-successfully-held-at-fon\/","title":{"rendered":"International Summer School successfully held at FON"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Belgrade, organized the international summer school &#8220;Data Empowering Business&#8221; from 10 to 15 July 2023.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The international summer school was attended by 20 students from five different countries: Germany, Slovakia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"http:\/\/oldfon.fon.bg.ac.rs\/downloads\/sites\/2\/2023\/07\/Picture2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1515\" src=\"http:\/\/oldfon.fon.bg.ac.rs\/downloads\/sites\/2\/2023\/07\/Picture2-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"picture2\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oldfon.fon.bg.ac.rs\/eng\/downloads\/sites\/2\/2023\/07\/Picture2-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/oldfon.fon.bg.ac.rs\/eng\/downloads\/sites\/2\/2023\/07\/Picture2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/oldfon.fon.bg.ac.rs\/eng\/downloads\/sites\/2\/2023\/07\/Picture2.jpg 1386w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The six-day program consisted of interactive and hands-on workshops designed to guide students through the phases of realization of data science projects. Through teamwork on a business case study assigned by the partner company <a href=\"https:\/\/carnex.rs\/\"><em>Carnex<\/em><\/a>, the participants went through the phases of understanding the business problem, visualization, analysis and data preparation, modeling and model implementation, and provided suggestions for improving the business based on data.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In the summer school, lectures were held not only by eminent FON teachers but also by experts from the economy:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><em>Change the world through data<\/em> \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/summerschool.fon.bg.ac.rs\/etn-speaker\/rosanda-milatovi%c4%87-skori%c4%87\/\">\u00a0Rosanda Milatovi\u0107 \u0160kori\u0107, <em>SAS Regional<\/em><em> Manager Adriatic <\/em><\/a><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>A new approach of Data Sciences: Closing the gap between academia and industry \u2013 <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/summerschool.fon.bg.ac.rs\/etn-speaker\/alina-luchian\/\"><em>Alina Luchian, Education &amp; Academic Territory Lead SEE SAS,<\/em><\/a><\/li>\n<li><em>SAS Visual Analytics \u2013 <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/summerschool.fon.bg.ac.rs\/etn-speaker\/sini%c5%a1a-arsi%c4%87\/\">Sini\u0161a Arsi\u0107<em>, Head of Intelligent Automation of Business Processes,<\/em> Telekom Srbija <\/a>\u00a0and<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/summerschool.fon.bg.ac.rs\/etn-speaker\/kristina-%c4%91uri%c4%87\/\">Kristina \u0110uri\u0107<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/summerschool.fon.bg.ac.rs\/etn-speaker\/jelena-jelenkovi%c4%87\/\">Jelena Jelenkovi\u0107<\/a>, <em>Brand Managers<\/em>, <em>CARNEX<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Additionally, there were three guest lecturers from FON&#8217;s partner universities:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/summerschool.fon.bg.ac.rs\/etn-speaker\/maja-cerjan\/\">Maja Cerjan<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/summerschool.fon.bg.ac.rs\/etn-speaker\/dunja-vi%c5%a1nji%c4%87\/\">Dunja Vi\u0161nji\u0107<\/a>, The Faculty of Organization and Informatics from Vara\u017edin and<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/summerschool.fon.bg.ac.rs\/etn-speaker\/marina-iva%c5%a1i%c4%87-kos\/\">dr Marina Iva\u0161i\u0107-Kos<\/a>, The Faculty of Informatics and Digital Technologies, University of Rijeka<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A round table discussion on the topic of<em> Career Development in Data Sciences and Business Analytics <\/em>was held within the summer school<em>. <\/em>The panelists included Prof. Ivan Lukovi\u0107, Ph.D., a full professor at FON; Prof. Ivana Mijatovi\u0107, Ph.D., a full professor at FON and a project leader at <em>Hsbooster.eu<\/em>; Mr Boban Poznanovi\u0107, Delivery Manager at Levi9 and a co-founder of the Serbian AI Society;
