{"id":73,"date":"2014-04-08T22:02:25","date_gmt":"2014-04-08T20:02:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fon.bg.ac.rs\/eng\/?p=73"},"modified":"2014-12-22T14:26:37","modified_gmt":"2014-12-22T13:26:37","slug":"fos-students-win-third-place-in-world-case-study-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oldfon.fon.bg.ac.rs\/eng\/2014\/04\/fos-students-win-third-place-in-world-case-study-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"FOS students win third place in world case study competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On April 6, 2014, the participants in the world competition in solving business case studies Belgrade International Business Case Competition 2014 held final presentations of their solutions at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences. Students from 12 world universities from America, Canada, Australia, Thailand, Singapore, Portugal, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway and Serbia, after 30 hours of solving business case studies in isolation, defended their solutions and answered questions from an expert jury made up of 14 top managers and consultants from leading companies in Serbia.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The case study was given by <strong>Danubius<\/strong> company, which operates within the <strong>Delta<\/strong><strong> Holding<\/strong>. The business challenge facing the students was related to increasing the consumption of pasta in the domestic market, and the possibility of placing Danubius brand in foreign markets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This year&#8217;s winner is the team from the <strong>National<\/strong><strong> University of Singapore<\/strong>, whose students defended the title of the last year&#8217;s winner. Second place went to the <strong>Queensland<\/strong><strong> University of Technology<\/strong> in Australia, while third place is shared by <strong>Porto<\/strong><strong> University<\/strong> and the <strong>University<\/strong><strong> of Belgrade, Faculty of Organizational Sciences<\/strong>. The <strong>team<\/strong> from FOS included Katarina Mirkovi\u0107, Ma\u0161a Sretenovi\u0107, Luka Va\u017ei\u0107 and Iva Mi\u0161ovi\u0107, with mentors Aleksandar Bijeli\u0107 and Ana Ivanovi\u0107.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Marija<\/strong><strong> Desivojevi\u0107 Cvetkovi\u0107, Vice President of Delta Holding<\/strong> and a member of the jury, highlighted the importance of this competition: &#8220;The greatest competitive advantage nowadays is knowledge. Knowledge is what differentiates successful from unsuccessful companies, successful from unsuccessful economies. Delta is therefore focused on providing continuous help to education, primarily through supporting our most successful students and faculties. Belgrade Business International Case Competition is important to us because it is a direct link between Serbia and the world, which is the only way for a quality exchange of knowledge and keeping up with the latest trends in developed countries. Owing to this successful collaboration, I believe that we are today a step closer to a common goal, which is to raise the quality of education in Serbia, thus contributing to a better place for us and our children.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;We tried to choose a topic that would be interesting to students from all over the world. Pasta industry in the case of a leading Serbian company Danubius has been a challenge for all of them. There was a number of quality ideas based on best practices of foreign markets and an analysis of consumer behavior in Serbia.
