{"id":871,"date":"2020-09-08T08:27:27","date_gmt":"2020-09-08T06:27:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fon.bg.ac.rs\/eng\/?p=871"},"modified":"2022-03-25T14:44:06","modified_gmt":"2022-03-25T13:44:06","slug":"xvii-international-symposium-symorg-2020-opened-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oldfon.fon.bg.ac.rs\/eng\/2020\/09\/xvii-international-symposium-symorg-2020-opened-today\/","title":{"rendered":"XVII International Symposium SymOrg 2020 opened today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The\u00a0XVII\u00a0International Symposium\u00a0<em>SymOrg\u00a02020\u00a0<\/em>titled <em>&#8220;Business and Artificial Intelligence&#8221; <\/em>was opened today.\u00a0 The specificity of this year&#8217;s Symposium is that it is being delivered online due to the current situation\u00a0caused by\u00a0 COVID-19\u00a0pandemic.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">At the very beginning, the participants\u00a0were\u00a0warmly welcomed by\u00a0Professor Du\u0161an Starcevic, PhD, the President of the <em>SymOrg 2020 <\/em>Program Committee.\u00a0Professor Starcevic briefly commented on the\u00a0topicality of\u00a0 this\u00a0 year\u2019s Symposium and explained that\u00a0artificial intelligence as a\u00a0disruptive\u00a0technology significantly changes the way consumers, industries, and business operations function.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Profesor\u00a0 Sanja Marinkovic, PhD, the Vice-Dean for International Cooperation and the President of the <em>SymOrg 2020\u00a0<\/em>Organizing Committee, introduced the participants to the Symposium program, which is organized in 11 sessions containing the total of 94 scientific papers\u00a0written by\u00a0more than 200 authors from Serbia and abroad. Professor Marinkovi\u0107 also announced two workshops to be hosted by Professor Dragan Vukmirovi\u0107, PhD, and Professor Zoran \u0160evarac, PhD.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The first plenary day of\u00a0<em>SymOrg 2020 <\/em>was dedicated to various aspects of artificial intelligence and business, explained by the following keynote speakers:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Professor Moshe Vardi, PhD, \u00a0<em>Rice University, US<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Professor\u00a0Bla\u017e\u00a0Zupan, PhD, <em>University of Ljubljana, Slovenia<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Professor Vladan Deved\u017ei\u0107, PhD,\u00a0<em>Faculty of Organizational Sciences, Serbia<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Milica Djuric Jovicic, PhD, <em>Director of Science Fund of the Republic of\u00a0Serbia<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Hari Ketamo,\u00a0PhD, <em>CEO of\u00a0Hedai\u00a0company, Finland<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Practical experience with the application of artificial intelligence in business was shared by:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Rade Mati\u0107,\u00a0PhD, <em>Belgrade Business and Arts Academy of Applied Studies, Serbia<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Milan Dobrota,\u00a0PhD, <em>CEO at Agremo, Serbia<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The International\u00a0Symposium <em>Symorg<\/em> has been organized biannually by the Faculty\u00a0of Organizational\u00a0Sciences\u00a0 since 1989 with the\u00a0aim of\u00a0improving the\u00a0theory\u00a0and\u00a0the practice of\u00a0management\u00a0and\u00a0its related\u00a0disciplines.\u00a0The Symposium\u00a0brings together\u00a0 local\u00a0and\u00a0international\u00a0academic\u00a0and\u00a0scientific\u00a0community, the representatives\u00a0of corporate,\u00a0public\u00a0and\u00a0non-governmental\u00a0sectors,\u00a0as well as\u00a0\u00a0students of\u00a0undergraduate,\u00a0master\u00a0and\u00a0doctoral\u00a0studies.
